Single ended. New Project

Hi


This is my new project, a single ended Class E. This version i try to use digital driver.

Mechanical Works .. hmm

VFO, divider and driver already done. Unfortunately i was wrong order of Mosfet driver, should be TO-220 package, but by mistake i ordered PI type (DIL). Please advise where i can get IXDD414 CI (TO-220)

Will inform you the progresses..

Hi Agus


Steve should have plenty of the IXDD414....
If you order some through him get a few 11N90 FETs as well.....I would not use the IRFP450/460 ....

The TC4422 are quite good too and are available via the WEB...
They are rated at 9 Amps while the IXDD414 are 14 Amps..

Looks as though the TX is for 40M...is that right... :?:

80 Mtr actually, my targets are: 100 watt, 80 M, 42 VDD, Q=10, CMOS driver. Simple mission: Just try to reinventing the wheel :) to get the grip of class E.

Hi dear,

IXDD414(T220) is not available at the present.

we got in digikey the MIC-4451ZT and MIC-4452ZT(TO-220) 12A working good in 7Mhz, direct coupling throungh a 0.1 ohms SMD resistor(digikey HPC12JTR100CT-ND).

Dear All


Wish everyone a joyous Christmas season.

Below picture is the results of Single ended Class E, with very ugly type of soldering :D .

1. Oscilator Vackar operate 7 - 8 mhz
2. Cmos Divider and phase shifter
3. Mosfet driver IXDD414 (DIL)
4. Duty cycle can be trimmed

I dont have a accurate Power Meter, so i cannot calculate the efficiency, but it seems Mosfet temperature was touchable running 43 volt 3 amp.

Is this going to be a permanent TX ?

Also for Power Meters I use this method most of the time and is cheap to build....
You could use your CRO etc:

Thank you, i m busy to crank up the efficiency. The first try was 45% efficiency, after trimming here and there i can get 70% and STOP :oops: can not go higher. I suspect the coil because it was hot when transmit (but still touchable). The VCE and Class e Waveform it looked perfect.

I don't think i will as permanent transmitter, maybe for demo. see, the yellow toroid is VFO in open, i will wash up the band when i use it :D

Thank you for power meter link, i will install diode in my MFJ dummy load.

PWM at this moment i keep it as it was, i m focus on experimenting on RF deck.
