Digital drive 40m

Postby wa2onk » Mon Nov 02, 2009 12:10 am

I am nearly finished with my digital drive 40m class e xmitter (finally). It's just a four fet unit using single digital drivers for each of the 1190 fets. I had a analog driven 40m e rig in the past.

Should I do anything different , precaution wise, firing up the digital xmitter as opposed to firing up the analog xmiter? I don't think so, but any advice is appreciated.

I wouldn't think so Chuck.

Just check to be sure you have drive to the FETs before applying DC to the Drains..
I assume you have done that anyhow, but, doesn't hurt to mention.!

Good luck!

Like to hear it on 40...

I can't xmit there right now.. (well I have a TS-440 I'm modifying for a friend, but it's not quite ready...)

Glad you're making progress. :D

the external D-S capacitor has a beat more capacity, and the output network has a little different values.
